Presented annually in the Spring and supported by TD Music, A Musical Taste of our Canadian Heritage/Notre patrimoine canadien, une odyssée musicale is an educational, highly entertaining, and entirely bilingual stage production showcasing the roots and development of our Canadian musical heritage.

The show is a veritable musical kaleidoscope: drums, voices and dancing of the First nations; traditional Québecois, Métis, Celtic and Acadian songs and dances; classical music and opera; the marches of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police; jazz, country and folk music; a history of pop and rock music; Canada’s contributions to television, film and the world stage, and more than 50 performers celebrating our Canadian identity.

This production highlights the power of music to educate audiences about the key social and cultural transformations that created modern-day Canada.

Note for schools: The show explores many fundamental components of provincial curriculum, including history, language, drama, the social sciences and culture.  A 71 page Teacher's Manual brimming with valuable educational information and activities on Canada’s musical heritage is available.
